WHAT WE DO
DSS source funding for PBCs and other Traditional Owner (TO) corporations for you to run your projects. These corporations may hire us back to provide services.
We provide services in such a way as to build the capacity of TOs to hold and manage their own programs and projects.
In recent years we have successfully transitioned programs and contracts from DSS to TO Corporations worth several million dollars.

Writing and submitting funding applications to get money for rangers, eg
o WA Aboriginal Ranger Program (ARP)
o Australian Government Indigenous Protected Areas (IPAs)
o Others, such as Indigenous Desert Alliance (IDA) – Indigenous Desert Foundation
Helping you run your ranger team
o Training and paying rangers
o Recruiting staff such as Ranger Coordinator, including
- direct supervision
- mentoring
- advice
o Safety, including
- provision and updating of specialist safety equipment
- training TOs and coordinator
- monitoring safety systems, including twice daily trip check-ins
o Budgets and reporting
o Information sharing and exchange between neighbouring ranger groups
Running planning workshops
o Country planning
o Strategic planning
Help you develop partnerships and get good advice, including
o funding bodies such as Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC)
Developing business opportunities, such as
o cultural awareness training,
o tourism
Managing your information
o Database to help look after country and run your ranger program
